The Teal Pumpkin Project
This year, we’ve chosen to participate in the “Teal Pumpkin Project”, an alternative, new tradition for our young friends who have food allergies restricting them from candy or sweets that are typically distributed this time of year. Many parents across the United States are participating as well, starting a trend that we hope catches on and lasts for quite some time!
It’s simple!
- Pick a pumpkin
- Paint it teal
- Display the pumpkin in front of your home on Halloween night, showing families that you will be distributing non-candy/non-food treats to trick-or-treaters.
There are lots of creative alternatives to handing out candy:
- bubbles
- fun (non-scary) Halloween rub-on tattoos
- plastic bracelets and rings
- bouncy balls
- mini kazoos
- small activity books
- crayons
- small pumpkins
Use your imagination, the possibilities are endless!
