As new parents that believe in the methods of Maria Montessori, we have tried our best to create spaces within our small one bedroom house that meet the needs of our (growing) baby developmentally, while also trying to meet the needs of our family as a whole.
This space is within our family living room where we spend most of our time. It is important to us that our baby has an area that is safe and accessible for him to explore independently. Due to our limited space, and general feelings towards consumerism, less is more in our home. We have invested in quality “works”, primarily made of wood, that we hope can grow with him. It’s not uncommon for us as a family to be sitting together around the rug reading books, listening to music or exploring a newly rotated work.
We look forward to sharing his eating space within our kitchen and our shared bedroom. Stay tuned and happy parenting!
